Job hunting can be a tedious and stressful process and sometimes you may not know where to begin looking for roles. As such, I have compiled below a list of three places you could start looking for a job.

LinkedIn

This should be where you spend most of your online time. This is the social network for professionals.  If you haven’t signed up please do. Recruiters spend their quality time on LinkedIn hunting for potential employees. Set up your profile that you are discoverable and who knows, someone might hit your inbox. It has worked for me and I have landed interviews in the past, I failed the two interviews I got.

Advice: It is important to make connections, connections are key to networking.  Also, connections posts roles that are not directly posted on LinkedIn. Spend less time viewing photos on Instagram and more times on LinkedIn making connections

PUBLIC SERVICE PORTAL

Growing up you must have thought of working for the government. Government jobs in Kenya are advertised in the Dailies but they ask you to submit hard copies in most cases. Psckjobs allows you to apply for government jobs online. This where public service jobs are posted.  You have to have signed up and keep checking from time to time. Covid-19 is shifting how recruitments are done and the government is also changing how to recruit.

Other parastatals have their own recruitment sites. For instance, KRA have their own.

My Jobs in Kenya

I have been a member here for quite a while. They have legit jobs for specific organizations like the US embassy in Nairobi. You won’t be redirected. You get to apply on the site. I find their jobs to legit. Most websites will list jobs available in Kenya but will redirect you to make applications. This website doesn’t do that.

I hope these three places will help you kickstart you job searching with less stress. I hope you find a role soonest. Don’t give up,  its tough for everyone.
